We are working on a sentence outline now. I just finished my point form outline now. I used 22 out of my 25 note cards. The I-Search is hard and I can’t wait till it’s over. The more I do research, the more against euthanasia I am. I mean killing in anyway is wrong. Some say that there are those special circumstances in which killing is OK ,that is wrong . Some patients could be in so much pain but they should let nature take its course. Also euthanasia is like suicide, so it is against all religions. Why is this called I-Search if we can’t use the word “I”?

A Love Song
The mentions of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes but it never fails to bring music to my ears.
If you really are my friend, please don't keep me from hearing the beautiful music. It soothes my broken heart and fills my soul with love.

Days are not the same
Days come and days go
But they have lost their glamour and glow
And became empty, full of awe
Since we had our biggest blow
Days are dull and not the same
How can I go on without calling your name?
And without seeing you, a beautiful dame
Alas all what I have now are pictures in a frame!
No heart is bigger than a mother's heart
But can I forgive life that pulled us apart?
Although I am thankful to God, there is no doubt
Yet my heart bleeds since your depart
With every glance, I see you there
Like my shadow, following me everywhere
Or as an angel that hears my prayer
And comes to comfort me, by just being there

I did 20 note cards, I did 20 note cards! Many people against euthanasia say that the situation for people in endless pain is strong medications or pain killers don’t they know that medications can be expensive and the patient could be poor. Don’t they know that pain killers don’t control the pain as much as the patients would like. Sometimes death (in their opinion) is their only way out, but I don’t agree with that. But maybe the pain is reduced, that is why people shouldn’t attempt suicide.

Extracts from the Prophet
And you would accept the seasons of your heart,
even as you have always accepted the seasons
that pass over your fields.
And yu would watch with serenity

We Remember Them
At the rising of the sun and its going down,
we remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
we remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
we remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer,
we remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
we remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
we remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength,
we remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
we remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share,
we remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
we remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
we remember them.
As long as we live, they, too, will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

I completed 15 note cards! Yay….10 more to go for my research. I am reading James Rachel’s book The End of Life Euthanasia Morality. It’s kind of creepy, he’s a professor of philosophy, so he’s a bit weird. He’s saying stuff like why is death bad , it’s irrational to be scared of it. He says that we don’t understand death and killing, that in some circumstances killing is alright, what a nut head! He explained killing like it was driving , he said when we drive we learn rules, like stopping at a red light but sometimes we are in a situation which makes us not follow a rule, like if we followed a rule we could crash into another car. He said it was the same with killing; sometimes killing is the only way out. And he said that many people forbid euthanasia because of religious reasons. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism forbid killing or suicide while religions in the Far East allow it.

Verses by Emily Dickenson
I remember every grief I meet
With analytic eyes;
I wonder if it weighs like mine,
Or has an easier size
I wonder if it hurts to live,
Or if they have to try,
And whether, could they choose between,
They would not rather die.

We have to have 25 note cards to do, and I’m really behind in my I-Search. I have all my information but I’m not reading anything. I am reading about the history of euthanasia and I have inferred that it has been around for a long time, but with the rise of religion it has become morally and ethically wrong. They used to do it a long time ago and they used to kill people because they were incurable like malaria. Also euthanasia occurs in every society either secretly or in which countries where it is legal wide open. The medical profession and religious groups agree that doctors are not required to use “extraordinary means” to prolong the life of the terminally ill. Sometimes respirators and other life supporting machines are expensive and the family can’t pay for it. When you pull the plug on someone on a respirator, it is the same as euthanasia. I mean how it is okay to pull the plug on someone, but not practice euthanasia. Well now that I think about it I realize that there is a distinct difference, the patient who was on the respirator is already dead, but the patient who wants to kill himself is not dead and shouldn’t have the right to die.

English Entry Journal #7
Yesterday I didn’t write in my journal because I wasn’t here, I went and conducted my interview with Dr Fareed Khalifa. He is a cancer doctor so when I walked into his clinic I was scared to see the patients. My interview went well. I asked questions which really put him on the spot. He answered each question thoroughly and made sure I understood. He explained to me how wrong euthanasia and that definitely made me think euthanasia is bad. What is the difference between chronically ill patients and vegetables who are living on respirators? Is there a difference? I just read that people are allowed to have the choice to be hooked to these machines, if they have that choice why shouldn’t people choose to die? Does the government have the right to make people suffer? No, they shouldn’t but they don’t have the right to let people kill other people freely as if it was normal. I wonder how doctors who practice euthanasia feel after they killed the patients. Do they feel good that they relieved the suffering of the patients or do they feel bad that they killed and ended someone’s life? Doctors who help people kill themselves, shouldn’t be looked at as helpers because they are killers.

If you had one more day
Daughter, if you had one more day
And the Lord allowed you to stay
I would have kept you in my arms
And kissed you more than a thousand times
I would have told you how you make me proud
And shouted” I LOVE YOU” out loud
I would have thanked you for every little thing
And the abundant joy, you used to bring
I would have told you how thoughtful you are
Watching over everyone from heaven, like a star
I would have apologized for causing you any dismay
While disciplining or during fun and play
I would have hugged you one more hug
And made your special tea in your favorite mug
I would have asked you to say “Mama” again and again
So that your voice gets embossed in my brain
I would have gone with you for one more ride
And bought you a special dress, that of a bride
I would have accompanied you to the places you’ll miss
Places you loved which witnessed your bliss
I would have gathered all your friends
To embrace you with happiness till the day ends
I would have baked your favorite apple pie
And pleaded to God to spare you and instead, I die
If only you had one more day
We could have said goodbye in a proper way

I’d pull it into view
And look beyond its colors
To get a glimpse of you
If I could touch the blue sky
I’d separate the clouds
And sit atop the big one
And shout your name out loud
If I could see you smiling
I’d know everything was fine
And I would be the first to tell
All those you left behind
But I can’t touch the rainbow
And I can’t touch the sky
But I can see you smiling
So for now, I’ll say goodbye

We did our bibliography cards and they were hard. I’ve been looking on information about Dr. Jack Kevorkian and I realized how wrong euthanasia was. How could someone take a person’s life away? At the beginning he let his patients kill their selves but on his TV appearance on CBS, he was injecting a patient with carbon dioxide. God keeps us on earth for a reason, its true the person is in a lot of pain, but it doesn’t justify it. All the religions forbid suicide in any way, but I shouldn’t look at this from a religious away. Dr. Jack Kevorkian turned out to have some mental problem so it’s possible that he wasn’t a supporter of euthanasia, he was insane.

We completed I- Search part 1, and I got all my 6 sources. So far I have 2 books on euthanasia, but I want to get another one. The bookstores in Bahrain are so bad, they don’t have anything. I’ve scheduled an interview with Dr. Fareed Khalifa, he is Egyptian and is supposed to be very good. I- Search is a lot of work, as soon as you think you’re done something, and you start something else. Some people I talk to about my topic think euthanasia is a good thing, but some people are on both sides, and others are against it. I am against it, taking anyone’s life away in any way is WRONG. I visited this site: www. euthanasia.com expecting it to be supporting euthanasia, but it is strongly against it.

English Journal Entry # 4
A thought just occurred to me, why should euthanasia be legalized? I mean even if a person was critically ill, doctors and researchers could have found a cure in the time he was alive . Also maybe the patients could help in research by letting doctors test on them. I’ve been talking to people about euthanasia and most are against it. I was talking to my Dad who is a doctor, and he said although a doctor’s job is to relieve pain, he doesn’t think doctors should do it. I asked him about whom I should interview and he said someone whose patients have a seious illness and might die and I thought …. a cancer doctor! The book I’m reading about euthanasia is from the “Opposing View points” series, but I feel that it’s leaning towards the support of euthanasia more.

Bring My Child Back to Me
Whisper,whisper,wind in the woods,
Bring back my child, here where he stood,
Let him laugh, let him shout, let him giggle with glee,
Wind in the woods, bring my child back to me.
Silence of morning, dew on the grass,
Give me peace in my soul, let this time pass,
Let my child sit beside me, let the two of us be,
Silence of morning, bring my child back to me.
Middle of night, so dark and so still,
Let me relax and remember at will,
Let my child in my thoughts drift forever to see,
Middle of night, bring my child back to me.
Sunrise and sunset,beginning and end,
Give me a day with my child,my friend,
We'll run on the beach,we'll play in the sea,
Sunrise and sunset, bring my child back to me
Memories,memories here in my head,
Don't ever leave me,even though my child's dead.
Keep him alive, keep him strong, keep him free,
Memories of mine, bring my child back to me.

Today I’ve been reading about euthanasia in my book, and what I’ve been reading mostly talks about the good side. Like how people should have the right to die, and to stop the suffering, and how the doctors should make patients feel better by killing them. Also that there are two types of euthanasia: active euthanasia, and passive euthanasia. Active euthanasia is when you interrupt ongoing bodily process but in passive euthanasia, the treatment given to the patient is withheld. It’s all very confusing. I- search is a lot of work, and we already have two more projects and a lot of tests!!! I’m not sure whether I’m with or against euthanasia, hopefully I will find out.

English Journal Entry # 2
Today we have begun the I-Search Experience, and frankly I’m not so excited about it. I’ve been talking to people and they say it is a long, boring, and miserable experience. My topic is Euthanasia and today I will start preparing for part 1.
Part 1: What I know
Euthanasia is a very controversial topic, people say no and people say yes. Euthanasia is known also as “mercy killing”. When someone has a chronic illness like cancer and is already dying, he or she might request the doctor to inject them with a substance that can kill them, this is Euthanasia. This choice to die is totally the patient’s decision. Some people view Euthanasia as murder for taking some one’s life away, and others view it as helping patients in pain. I know that Euthanasia is an illegal practice in many countries such as the USA, but it is also a legal practice in other countries such as the Netherlands. The way in which I look at Euthanasia is that it’s like murder in some ways, and like suicide in others. The doctors who practice Euthanasia can be looked at as murderers, but the patients who choose to die can be looked at as suicidal. In modern technology, they are a lot of inventions which can make the dying process longer, but some people think as long as I’m going to die, Why don’t I die and save myself the pain? Others think, you will die when you die, doctors can’t act as God, God will choose for you to die. Does the patient have a right to choose his mortality? I don’t know. Life is a miracle and you have to live it, but what if you’re in so much pain?

You Tumbled Short of Your Dreams
Daughter, you tumbled short of your dreams
Just like Daisy in the Great Gatsby it seems
Did you over dream precious child?
And your dream became unattainable and died?
And thus its attainability became very slim
An illusion replaced by a future that is so dim
I hear the recording of your warm sweet voice
I would play it all day long if I had the choice
You said “If only she would walk through the door!”
Words you had uttered not realizing what was in store
“Hope never dies” you also said
Where is the hope that one day I will see you wed?
And have three children to love and enjoy
The dream that would have filled us all with great joy
Your dream turned out like a castle in the sand
One blow and things went out of hand
And thus your dream did not become a reality
Just as in the Great Gatsby, except it ended in a fatality
Now it is my turn dear daughter not to over dream
But patiently wait to see your lovely face again beam
As you stand to welcome me at heaven’s door
When my time comes to unite with you, the daughter I adore
Until then, you are alive in my heart loved one
Even though if everyone thinks that you are gone

Silent Cries
There are times in my life when my heart
cries out so loud for you
That I cringe,
wondering what others might think.
And then I realize
that only I can hear the screams.
They are a part of me,
like the blood rushing through my veins
and the breath leaving my lungs.

Flowers for Algernon
Progress Report 6-March 15
The operation didn’t hurt, he did it while I was sleeping. They took the bandages off my eyes and my head today, so I can write a progress report. Dr. Nemur, who looked at some of my other ones, said I spelled progress and report wrong, and he taught me how to spell them. I have to try and remember them.
I have a hard time remembering the correct spelling of words. Dr. Strauss says it’s OK to talk about all the things that happen to me, but he says I should talk more about my feelings and my thoughts. When I told him that I didn’t know how to think, he told me to try. While the bandages were on my eyes, I tried to think, but nothing happened. I don’t know what to think about. Maybe, if I ask him, he will teach me how to think. Now, that I’m supposed to get smart, what do smart people think about? Fancy things, I suppose. I wish I already knew some fancy things.

A poem from Heaven
Mourn for me no more, mom
for I am a soul
I am pure and at peace
I am calm, wise and serene
I live here, there and everywhere.
I can be any place, any time of the night or day.
I am yesterday, today and tomorrow.
I visit the dusk, the dawn and the moon
I touch the rainbow, slide on the clouds
and catch the stars when ever I like .
I wander in the cosmic space and the ocean deeps
I travel long and fast and see all in a glance
I just love it here.
Mourn for me no more, mom
For I am a soul
I am present with you more than before
I am closer to you more than you can ever think
I am just a breath away. Call my name and I’ll be there
Talk to me for I can hear you
Look at me for I can see you
Touch my picture frame and feel my warm smile
whisper my name
I can be for you from here better than there.
Feel the breeze against your cheek, its me, its me
When you watch sunset and the darkness falls, its me, its me.
When the wind blows against the trees, its me, its me
When you smell the fragrance of the jasmine tree, its me, its me
And when you love that aroma of Yorkshire tea, its me, its me
And when ever you see the light, remember
I am here, there and everywhere.
Call my name I am just a breath away.
I am a soul
I do not worry for money, food or any human need
I am with Dad, aunty Najla and uncle Naseeb.
We live our lives in Love and Peace
I am sometimes a rainbow, a cloud or a stream.
I love it here
Mourn for me no more, mom
For I’m with you all the time
When you sit quietly on your patio,
You can see me with every flower bud,
With every morning dew
You can hear me with every insect buzz
And every water drop
You can sense my presence with every breeze
With every leaf, with every sun light streak
Whisper my name and I’ll be there with you, for you,
to support, giggle and laugh.
My love for you never dies,
I’m sorry mom I had to go before you,
I know how much this broke your heart.
But I had to go
a call came by
from the other side.
The call was for me not for you
and I was the one ready with a boarding pass
Mourn for me no more, mom
I love it here and
I am waiting for your turn to come
to welcome you into LIFE,
to join the souls of eternal joy.
I’m with you all the time
Call my name, I’m just a breath away
Call my name, I’m just a breath away
I’m just a breath away
a breath away
away away

TIME
I thought that time was healing
All the hurt you left behind
That empty spaces could be filled
My arms, my heart, my mind
And though my body looks the same
As it did when you were here
The emptiness is growing
Even bigger with each year
I thought that time was healing
All the agonising pain
That as the tears were fading
Soon I wouldn't feel the same
And though I can be smiling
And you think that I'll survive
The pain is in my blood now
I have nowhere else to hide
I thought that time was healing
All the loss a mother feels
That now you live within my heart
I had you near me still
But I need so much to touch you
To see you smile again
And those memories I'm told are mine
Can never feel the same
I thought that time was healing
All the while the mask was worn
That underneath a new me
Was waiting to be born
But now I find I am the mask
It helps to keep me safe
And though my heart is breaking
You won't see it in my face
I thought that time was healing
All those tears my eyes have seen
That aching arms that miss you
Could be satisfied with dreams
But here I am, in pain again
And healing stands alone
And mother weeps, the world can see
For a son who can't come home

Quote Analysis
The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown
“Since then, he’d suffered a haunting phobia of enclosed spaces – elevators, subways, squash courts. The elevator is a perfectly safe machine, Langdon continually told himself, never believing it. It’s a tiny metal box hanging in an enclosed shaft! Holding his breath, he stepped into to the lift, feeling the familiar tingle of adrenaline as the doors slid shut” (43-44).
Robert Langdon, a Harvard Professor, said this when he was entering an elevator at the Louvre Art Gallery in Paris, after being summoned by the captain of the French police force, Bezu Fache. Jacques Sauniere, an important French figure, was murdered earlier that evening in the Louvre, and arranged his body in a very bizarre way, Langdon thought he was summoned as a witness, but in fact he was a suspect. This quote is somewhat ironic, because it implies that Langdon is a cowardly man who doesn’t take risks, but throughout the entirety of the novel he is constantly taking risks; he is running from the police, etc. This just goes to reveal that Langdon is cowardly when it comes to matters that he feels he has no control over. He can’t control the motion of the elevator shaft, but he can control his own actions, that is why he wasn’t cowardly when he ran away from the police numerous times. He decided to run away, he could stop running if he wanted to, he had complete control over himself. But with matters such as in the quote above, he was cowardly. Even when Langdon was at gunpoint, he was less cowardly than when it came to the elevator shaft, because Langdon possessed the power to knock the gun out of the holder’s hand. As I mentioned before, Langdon was a risk taker, but only with matters in which he had control over, “...He felt the familiar twinge of adrenaline”. The theme introduced is the absurdity of life; people seem to fear the things that are the least fearful. Robert Langdon, a well known man, who takes numerous risks throughout the novel, is scared of an elevator shaft. That makes Langdon sound ridiculous and absurd. He should fear for his life, or a prison sentence, not an elevator shaft. Also, a man Langdon was supposed to meet up with was brutally murdered, and all he could seem to think about, was the elevator shaft. This novel is about overcoming your fears for your sake, and for others, because sometimes your fears not only affect yourself, but they affect others as well. Langdon’s phobia of elevators seems harmless, but what if he had to ride an elevator in order to save someone’s life? To do something with fear is better than not doing it and regretting it for the rest of your life.

Men Do Cry
I heard quite often "men don't cry"
though no one ever told me why
So when I fell and skinned a knee,
no one came by to comfort me.
And when some bully-boy at school
would pull a prank so mean and cruel
I'd quickly learn to turn and quip,
"It doesn't hurt," and bite my lip.
So as I grew to reasoned years,
I learned to stifle my tears.
Though "Be a big boy" it began,
quite soon I learned to "Be a man.
"And I could play that stoic role
while storm and tempest wracked my soul.
No pain or setback could there be
could wrest one single tear from me.
Then one long night I stood nearby
and helplessly watched my son die.
And quickly found, to my surprise,
that all that tearless talk was lies.
And still I cry, and have no shame,
I can not play that "big boy" game.
And openly, without remorse,
I let my sorrow take its course.
So those of you who can't abide
a man you've seen who's often cried,
reach out to him with all your heart
as one whose life's been torn apart.
For men do cry when they can see
their loss of immortality.
And tears will come in endless streams
when mindless fate destroys their dreams

Animal Farm’s Mood
Animal Farm by George Orwell, a book about an animal led revolution against humans, has a basically depressing, dark mood. Orwell’s main purpose was to warn the readers of the ideals off the society in which we live in today. He achieved this by criticizing communism and showing that it doesn’t work. In this book, he focuses on the negative effects of revolution, and is critical of communism. He does this by creating a depressing mood in order to lure the reader to his side and warn him of the dangers of the society in which we live in. He establishes this dark mood through setting, vivid descriptions, and the fear factor. The setting of the story is in a farm, that is somewhat isolated from the rest of civilization, which creates a rather eerie, depressing mood. The following quote exhibits a description of the weather portraying a rather gloomy mood: “It was a bitter winter. The stormy weather was followed by sleet and snow, and then by a hard frost which did not break till well into February.” Orwell uses the fear factor to display the mood, for he is constantly talking about the gruesome punishments received by traitors, etc. The diction of Animal Farm is rather political, for Orwell uses words such as “comrades” and “commandments”. He does this in order to fulfill his purpose, which is to criticize as well as well as warn the readers of the negative effects of communism.

Extracts from the Prophet
Let not the waves of the sea seperate us now, and the years you have spent in our midst become a memory.
You have walked among us a spirit, and your shadow has been a light upon our faces.
Much have we loved you. But speechless was our love, and with veils has it been veiled.
Yet now it cries aloud unto you, and would stand revealed before you.
And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of seperation.

Assess the reasons for and consequences of the Cultural Revolution in China
In order for China to exist as a pure Communist Republic, Mao Zedong felt it was necessary to rid China of all capitalist aspects. Between 1962 and 1966, Communist Party members argued over which path to follow, Mao’s extreme leftist path, or Liu Shaoqi’s center path. Shaoqi, leader of the moderates, believed that including elements of capitalism such as incentive schemes for the peasants would help China prosper. Mao condemned the moderates, and believed they were making people forget the original aims of the Communist Party. Mao wanted to set China back on the Communist path, and order to do so he decided to rid China of all things capitalist. Thus he launched a Socialist Education Movement, followed by the ‘four clean-ups campaign’, and finally the Cultural Revolution of 1966.
In 1965, every member of the PLA was given “The Little Red Book”, a newly published book that contained quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong. This book was used to get the support of the PLA members, because without the army’s support, Mao would not have a significant degree of power. After achieving this level of support, Mao was ready to launch a super campaign against capitalists and reactionaries known as “The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution” of 1966.
The Cultural Revolution started off among school children and students in Beijing. The students formed into military groups known as Red Guards, who became the major force of the Cultural Revolution. At the same time, schools were temporarily shut down because the curriculum was being re-written in order to promote communist ideals. The Red Guards had plenty of time to dedicate to the revolution and their first aim was to rid Chinese schools and colleges of capitalist and bourgeois influences. They also launched the four clean up campaigns in which they wanted to rid China of old culture, old customs, old ideas, and old habits. Their methods to achieve their aims began to become more violent, and finally ran wild as a result of the unconditional support of the PLA and police.
The Cultural Revolution finally ended in, but at a significant cost to China. The absolute freedom the Red Guards experienced led to the deaths of about 40,000 people. Thousands more were humiliated, tortured, imprisoned, and physically abused. In order to restore China, Mao reopened schools and colleges. Some Red Guards did not want to return and used violence in area, so the PLA stepped into disarm them. Mao encouraged many Red Guards to go down to the country in order to continue their education, but it was too late, the damage was done. Young people had missed so much of their education to the extent that it was estimated that by 1981, 120 million people below the age of 45 were illiterate. In addition, industrial output fell dramatically.
Even though order was restored in 1969, its social and economic costs can not be ignored. This marked the second ‘chaotic’ period under Mao’s rule. Nonetheless, Mao was able to successfully rid himself of the threat of competition, by eliminating the moderates from the party.

Oh September, you came back again
Oh September, you came back again
Haven’t you caused me enough pain?
Your days come and your days go
Without a glimpse of Samar and her glow
You are the beginning of a school year
But for me, you mark the month I lost my most dear
Where are the days I bought her the school books?
And purchased all that suited the New Year’s looks
And this year you’re back with Ramadan
The sacred month of the Holy Quran
Thus, my pain will be doubled in the coming days
As the memories of each rewinds and plays
Oh September, I wish you did not come
Yet, I realize that your coming is welcomed by some
But for me you are the month that marks my loss
How I wish from the calendar you, I can cross!
I was told with time my pain will wane
It will not! Even when I age and walk with a cane

Reposting of What Ramadan Means to Me
What Ramadan means to me is that Ramadan is a holy month; it is the month that the Quran came to earth. In Ramadan you have to be kind to people and you can't swear or say bad words or lie. And you have to pay the poor people. The most important thing is that you have to fast .But if you are too young or pregnant or if your traveling to far places or if you are old. And you can eat when it's time for the Maghreb prayer.
What I like about Ramadan is the food! I like the Futoor food and the dessert. I like cheese sambosas and Lukimat!
In Ramadan you have to read a lot of Quran. There is a special prayer in Ramadan that is called the Taraweeh prayer that you pray after the Isha'a prayer.
When you are fasting, you can wake up early in the morning before the Fajr prayer and eat but you do not have to but it is better. It is better to eat at Suhoor: toast, cereal, banana, sandwich, milk, water and do not eat anything that makes you thirsty.

Ask Me
Ask Me
Not, how did he die, but how did he live?
Not, what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not what was his church, nor what was his creed
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with the word of good cheer
To bring back a smile, to banish your tears?
Not, what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not what was his church, nor what was his creed
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with the word of good cheer
To bring back a smile, to banish your tears?

What We Need to Know to Have Fun at School
1. We have to learn our math skills
2. We have to learn how to read and write.
3. We need to learn how to respect ourselves, the people we work with, and our boss.
4. We can have fun but at the same time, we learn something new.
5. We can have fun by playing Pirates and Treasures and still have fun by learning and spelling.
6. We need to learn to speak some different languages.
7. We can still have fun by learning math because there are fun activities in Math.

Tears,Idle Tears
Tears, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depth of some divine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy autumn fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.
Fresh as the first beam glittering on a sail,
That brings our friends up from the underworld,
Sad as the last that reddens over one
That sinks with all we love below the verge;
So sad, so fresh, the days that are no more.
Ah, sad strange as in dark summer dawns
The earliest pipe of half-awakened birds
To dying ears, when unto dying eyes
The casement slowly grows a glimmering square;
So sad, so strange, the days that are no more.
Dear as remembered kisses after death,
And sweet as those by hopeless fancy feigned
On lips that are for others;deep as love,
Deep as first love,and wild with all regret;
O Death in Life, the days that are no more!

The Catcher in the Rye
The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger is a novel about a young teenage boy’s troubles and his path of self-discovery in the modern world. It received so much critical acclaim because the tone, mood, and diction of the story were very different than those of the stories the people of that time were used to reading. The diction of the story was colloquial, and included foul language, and slang. The author did this, so that you can feel with the main character Holden, and feel apathetic towards him, because while reading this book you recall the times you felt the way Holden felt. It is worded in such a way that you think you know Holden, because he talks, acts, and feels just the way you and your acquaintances do. It is written in such a personal way to attract the reader’s attention in order to familiarize the reader with the problems we face today. Sometimes while reading old fashioned books that have a rather complicated word choice, you find yourself confused and the meaning of the story is totally lost on you. But while reading The Catcher in the Rye, you understand the story, because you are familiar with the dialect used in the story, and you are interested. “Willya do that? I hope you enjoy your stay in New York. It’s a grand place.” In this quote, slang is exhibited, and you are interested to read on, because slang creates a real effect. The author also uses a technique in which the main character is talking to the reader. This technique makes you feel like you’re part of the story. “She’s all right. You’d like her. The only trouble is, she’s a little too affectionate sometimes.” The author’s words were carefully chosen in order for the reader to fully recognize the tone of the story.
The main tones of the story are anger, hostility, criticism, and frustration. The author creates a teenage boy in order to show his own personal feelings of hostility and anger towards the world we live in today. Holden is critical of every little thing. He is frustrated with his life, so he goes on a path of self-discovery in which he couldn’t find himself. He is angry at the world. He’s angry that his brother is dead, he’s angry that he goes from school to school like an unwanted dog. “Well, I hate it. Boy, do I hate it,’ I said. ‘But it isn’t just that. It’s everything. I hate living in New York and all. Taxicabs, and Madison Avenue buses, with the drivers and all always yelling at you to get out at the rear door, and being introduced to phony guys that call the Lunts angels, and going up and down elevators when you just want to go outside, and guys fitting your pants all the time at the Brooks, and people always..“. The use of foul language in the novel, reflects the feelings of hostility and anger towards the world.
The overall mood of the story was depressing. While reading it, I felt bad for Holden. My heart filled with sympathy with every page. The tone and the diction contributed to this overall feeling of depression. For instance, the use of foul language is a negative thing, and makes you look at the world negatively. Also, the tones of the story are mainly negative feelings, which also contribute to this overall feeling of depression. While reading Holden’s harsh criticism of our world, you can’t help but feel bad and depressed that someone who you’ve gotten to know feels this bad about the world that you live in. You feel depressed, and then start noticing the fine details in life that Holden notices. “It’s full of phonies, and all you do is study so that you can learn enough to be smart enough to be able to buy a goddam Cadillac some day, and you have to keep making believe you give a damn if the football team loses, and all you do is talk about the girls and liquor and sex all day, and every body sticks together in these goddam cliques.” Holden’s views on our conformist world, makes you feel depressed and shocked at the same time, that someone can hate the world he lives in that much.

William Shakespeare quotes
"He that is thy friend indeed,
He will help thee in thy need:
If thou sorrow, he will weep;
If thou wake, he cannot sleep:
Thus of every grief in heart
He with thee does bear a part.
These are certain signs to know
Faithful friend from flattering foe."

My Heart is Broken
Although my tears have mostly dried out
Yet every minute I cry for you and shout
Your passing left my heart broken
With a lot of pain, mostly unspoken
How can a mother's broken heart still beat
After seeing her loving daughter motionless on the street?
How can a mother see her daughter fully clad
In a snow white sheet without feeling miserable and sad?
The wedding dress I was hoping one day to see you in
Has been replaced by a cloth so white and thin
I reminisce over every happy moment we had
And for having you as my daughter, I am so glad
I am so fortunate to be your mother
And so are your father, sister and brother
You have made us all very proud
As you are remembered by everyone all year round
If it was not for the love and memories you left behind
I would have been buried by now, next to you in the sand
