Chez Sami

Chez Sami is known to some of you
And maybe visited by a few.

A nice restaurant, by the sea
Where each wave brings memories to me.

It is not easy to visit an old familiar place
Without noticing my loved one’s empty space

I can’t hear those sitting around
As I listen to the waves’ sound.

I am immersed in moments of the past;
Happy ones that sadly did not last.

I miss my daughter very much
A feeling that time can not erase or brush.

This place also reminds me of Dad,
Whose absence as well makes me sad.

I wish I could stand up and shout
And Tell them what my silence is all about.

But I have to keep my feelings subdued
As breaking up their happiness will be rude.

They Miss You

Your friends passed by
I’m glad that they weren’t shy
To shed their tears and cry
Show their feelings, not act or lie.

Oh dear daughter, they miss you
And wish that what happened wasn’t true
They carry their pain not knowing what to do
To make the grey skies turn again blue.

Stories about you they shared,
Some I knew, some I never heard.
Spoke about your thoughtfulness and how you cared
And what a good friend you were, they all affirmed.

They always feel that you are near
In a dream or an old song they hear
And when they gather, you’re with them, dear
They will never forget you, it’s very clear.

They remember you wherever they go
Carrying their pains which their faces show
And holding to the memories that with them grow
They’re hurting and miss you, I know.

When they had to say goodbye
I wished they didn’t have to leave, do you know why?
I saw you in them, as if part of you didn’t die
Bless them; they comforted my heart and eye.
