I Am Not Far Away From You

Mother..
Don’t reckon that
I am far away from you.
Each evening,
After the moon gets drowsy
And the stars are drugged,
I sleep in your arms
And I place under your pillow
Happy dreams.
When the sun wakes up
With you in escort,
I sit with your cup of coffee
And watch my Father,
As he hugs your glimpse
Then I carry your handbag
And sit in the passenger seat
Wiping your eyeglasses lenses.
I am present among the
Rows of your students,
Looking at you. I day dream
Listening to the music of your words
And with excitement I wipe
With my spirit’s handkerchief
The silver drops
Of your perspiration
Mother…
I live with you all,
I am not alone.
I am not far away from you.
