Grief

Grief fills the room up of my absent child,
Lies in his bed,walks up and down with me,
Puts on his pretty looks,repeats his words,
Remembers me of all his gracious parts,
Stuffs out his vacant garments with his form;
Then have I a reason to be fond of grief?

This is one of my favorite verses because it captures where a parent's heart is in the absence of his or her child.

We mothers work very hard trying to make a new life after the death of our child. Say our child's name when we talk now and then. Ask, "How are you managing?" We will be grateful.
