عذرا بيروت

حزينة أنت
عروس البحر
...بيروت

أين جمالك؟؟؟

 .يا بيروت

Poignant Words written by an anonymous person

If only we could see the splendor of the land,
To which our loved ones are called from you and me,
We'd understand.

If only we could hear the welcome they receive,
From the old familiar voices all so clear,
We would not grieve.

If only we could know the reason why they went,
We'd smile and wipe away the tears that flow,
And wait content.

Love Never Dies

Love for our dead ones never dies for sure
With all the losses we have to endure.

Our loved ones are far but remain near,
Alive in our hearts and in our sphere.

Losing one’s child is the worst loss of all
It gets imprinted on our face and eyeball.

But, if you choose to keep your child alive
You’ll find solace and be able to survive.

A bereaved mother, God showed me the way
To keep my daughter alive everyday,

Hear her voice and see her face,
Watch her as she walks with grace,

Embrace her when I contemplate
And feel her touch, a feeling so great,

Imagine her sitting with us all
In our gatherings, large and small

My greatest comfort in these five years
Was writing her poems full of love and tears.

Keeping her alive in my life I don't ignore
That she’s not with us anymore.

God decided that it was time for her to leave,
Left me to keep her legacy, not only grieve.

A Quote on Tears by Charles Dickens

Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the building dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts.

Five Star Iris -Is there something I can do

Lyrics to Is There Something I Can Do :
Whoever made the claim that words could ease the pain
Never watched your tears fill up an ocean
Never saw your face, the moment you found out
That you'd have to live without, until heaven

Is there somethin' I can do other than being here for you to ease the pain
If I can keep you from fallin', fallin' down'
I'm sorry to sound selfish but I feel so helpless
Is it okay if I stay here with you and cry for awhile

Whoever made the claim that words could ease the pain
Never watched you fall apart, never put you back together
When you were broken down, into a million pieces
Scattered on the ground

Is there somethin' I can do
What can I say, what can I do

Beirut

“Oh Beirut,
why all this rain?”
They are tears from heaven,
sharing your pain.

I’m sorry for
your grief, Dear,
your loss of a lovely daughter
whose life was so brief.

There is nothing I can do
except cry,
shed my tears for her
from the sky.

For she loved me
and I loved her too.
People are attached to me,
 I only to few.

She enjoyed my streets
as well as my sea,
I’m the place she loved,
and wanted to see.

Accept my condolences
sent from above,
Your daughter, I’ll always
remember and dearly love.
